Chattanooga City Council Takes Up Plan Chattanooga for Adoption Tuesday, Aug. 25

Plan Chattanooga, the citywide comprehensive plan plus eight area plans, is on the Chattanooga City Council agenda for adoption Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. The Regional Planning Commission adopted it in June; a public hearing was Aug. 11.

Chattanooga Planners Keep South Broad Drive-Through Ban — For Now

On Monday, Aug. 10, the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission kept the ban on new drive-throughs in South Broad's commercial mixed-use zone. Staff will return next month with a path for former drive-through sites — and City Council takes up Plan Chattanooga on Aug. 25.
