Metro Council Sets Oct. 20 Final Vote on 16-Story, 311-Unit Plan at 300 McCann Street

Metro Council has BL2026-1553 on its Oct. 20, 2026, agenda for third reading. The bill would rezone 0.69 acres at 300 McCann Street from Core Frame to Specific Plan for up to 311 multifamily units in a planned 16-story building near Wedgewood-Houston. A separate Barnes Road SP was deferred to Nov. 5

Metro Planning on Aug. 13, 2026, approved 2026SP-018-001 Elam Station at 1065 Barnes Road — about 55.6 acres for up to 110 multi-family units and 77 single-family lots, with short-term rentals prohibited.
